Description

Masala chai is a tea beverage made by boiling black tea in milk and water with a mixture of aromatic herbs and spices. Originating in South Asia, the beverage has gained worldwide popularity, becoming a feature in many coffee and tea houses.

Steps

  1. Bring water to a boil in a small pot.
  2. Add ginger, cloves, cinnamon stick, green cardamom, and black cardamom.
  3. Simmer until flavors infuse, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add tea bags, simmer for 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Add milk and sugar, bring back to a boil.
  6. Strain tea into mugs.
